Hello, I’m Amy

Having worked in a school in central London for 6 years, I have a strong understanding of the British Curriculum. In 2023 I made the leap to private tutor and have since worked with a variety of families internationally. I have developed a flexible and personalised approach to education, supporting children aged 3 to 13 across a variety of subjects.

Over the last few years I have undertaken weekly tutoring sessions with children to support subject specific areas or focus on exam preparation for 7-11+ entrance exams. I've also travelled for weeks at a time to support families with home-schooling and worked with families alongside their schools to support children with learning difficulties.

Home-schooling has taken me all over the world from the bush in Africa to the highways of America and snow capped mountains in Europe. I love combining core subjects with outdoor learning, creativity and real-world experiences, using our surroundings to bring subjects such as nature, history, geography and science to life.

I am a fun, engaging and wholesome teacher who aims to nurture confidence, curiosity, independence and a genuine love of learning. Alongside tutoring, I teach Pilates and enjoy an active lifestyle, which I naturally bring into my work with children.

Kind words from parents

“Amy has been tutoring my daughter (age 8) for her 9+ exams and I can’t recommend her highly enough. She is an incredible teacher and has really inspired a love of learning in subjects that Vita has previously struggled with. Amy is extremely lovely to have in the house, always punctual and professional. She turns up highly prepared and delivers exciting and interesting sessions. Vita actively looks forward to their time together and has made amazing progress under her guidance. I am delighted to say that she has now been offered a place at her chosen school following great success at the assessment and interview - I am so grateful to Amy!”

“Amy has been tutoring my son in maths for more than four years both in-person and online. She has a lovely, calm, positive approach which has earned her a great repore with my son. He has gained so much confidence from working with her, and it has resulted in improved results and confidence in his maths. We love seeing Amy, and will continue to work with her in the future!”

“Having known Amy for years as a teacher at my children's school, we were delighted when she shifted to private tutoring and was available to tutor our daughters (years 3 and 5). She's worked with them on general homework and 11+ preparation for the past year. She is reliable, flexible, and most importantly, a fantastic teacher. Our girls adore her.”
